Punjab's Daughter's Have Brought Glory To The Nation, Special Felicitation Soon: Harpal Cheema

Punjab: Two Punjabi players of the Indian team, Harleen Deol and Amanjot Kaur, who made history by winning India's first-ever World Cup in women's cricket, received a grand and warm welcome from the Punjab government upon their return home today at the Shaheed Bhagat Singh International Airport here.

How the Ministers and MLAs will honor the daughters of Punjab?

On this occasion, Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema and MP Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer were specially present at the airport to welcome the players on behalf of the Punjab government.

They were accompanied by MLA Dr. Amandeep Kaur Arora, District Planning Board Chairperson Prabhjot Kaur, Jaswant Kaur, and Councilor Sarabjit Singh Samana. A festive atmosphere prevailed at the airport, where the Punjab government, district administration, and sports department honored the victorious daughters with garlands of flowers and the rhythmic beats of drums.

What is government's announcement? 

It is noteworthy that Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann had already congratulated the team captain Harmanpreet Kaur, Harleen Deol, and Amanjot Kaur on this historic achievement through a video call.

Harpal Singh Cheema and Meet Hayer said that these daughters of ours have not only brought glory to Punjab but to the entire nation. They announced that a special felicitation ceremony will be held by the Punjab government for all three players after Captain Harmanpreet Kaur returns to Punjab.
